4.1 Engineering tools

4 System components

This chapter describes the single components of the Lenze Controller-based Automation" system.

The system consists of an Engineering PC, a Controller and devices which communicate with the

Controller via the fieldbus.

4.1 Engineering tools

The Engineering PC is a PC/laptop with a Windows operating system and a network connection. Use

the Engineering PC to do the following with the "Controller-based Automation" system...

• Parameterising/ configuring;

•programming

• diagnosing.

The Lenze Engineering tools by means of which you establish and operate the desired automation

solution in the Engineering phases supported by Lenze are installed on the Engineering PC.
